The Dungeness Spit

The Dungeness Spit, Lighthouse, and Mt. Baker

I had Wednesday off from work so I dragged my friend Tim with me on a hike. We drove about 2.5 hours west to Sequim and hiked the length of the Dungeness Spit. The Dungeness Spit is over 5 miles long and is the longest sand spit in the northern hemisphere. At the end of the spit is a light house that is one of the oldest on the west coast. There's no trail out there, it's just a walk on the beach, and since the tide was in we had to scramble over logs and loose rock. We had great weather and wonderful views of Mt. Baker. It was a very long 5 miles, but once we got out there there was a very nice little tour of the lighthouse. Unfortunately, it was also a very long 5 miles back!

Almost there!

LOL Michelle's comment on walking around the neighborhood. That's exactly what we do, except instead of demolished buildings, it's who's picking up their trash!

    Beautiful pictures Kim:)
